Carroll holds off Rehobeth

The No. 3-ranked Class 5A Eagle

The Carroll Eagles defeated the Rehobeth Rebels, 24-8. The No. 3-ranked Class 5A Eagles improved to 6-0 and have now won 19 straight regular season games.

Jonathan Fells rushed for 201 yards on 24 carries with a touchdown. Carroll opened the scoring early in the second quarter when Mazue Martin went in from 15 yards out and Ed White added the extra point kick. Fells scored on a 2-yard run with 1:51 left before halftime and White’s PAT made it a 14-0 advantage. White connected on a 34-yard field goal with 6:04 to play in the third quarter to put the lead at 17-0. Tyler Benton then intercepted a pass for Carroll and returned it 80 yards for a touchdown with 7:54 to play in the game. White’s extra point kick made it 24-0. Rehobeth scored a late touchdown and added the 2-point conversion for its points. The Eagles will travel to Tuskegee to take on the Golden Eagles of Booker T.
