Assistant Principal/Advanced Placement Coordinator

Hello and welcome to the Carroll High School webpage. My name is Andrea Maness and this school year marks my 14th year as a public school educator. In 2004 I graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Comprehensive Mathematics Education and enjoyed 10 years in the classroom teaching high school students in a content area that most would characterize as their “least favorite subject” in school. My greatest joys as a classroom teacher revolved around watching students grow to love my “most favorite subject” and showing students of all ability levels that they too could be extraordinary if they put their mind to achieving success.

In 2014 I graduated from Troy University with a Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership and Administration.  The 2017-2018 school year is my 4th year as an administrator here at Carroll High School. Along with the responsibility of being an assistant principal, I also serve as the Coordinator for Carroll High School's Advanced Placement Program. We are currently in the second year of our Advanced Placement Program. In May of 2017 we administered 200+ Advanced Placement exams. We are pleased to say that we surpassed our school goal of qualifying scores by nearly 33% in our inaugural year of the program; including adding two perfect exam scores to our resume'. In the current school year we have almost half of our student population participating in Pre-AP and AP classes and will again administer 200+ AP exams in the Spring of 2018. Through our partnership with A+ College Ready we are excited to see our Advanced Placement Program grow and witness our students experience their own journeys to success.

I am married to Coach Allen Maness, Physical Education teacher at Lisenby Primary School and assistant football and head tennis coach at Carroll High School. We have a four year old daughter, Emma and a 1 year old son, Sam. We are not natives of Ozark but have established a home here and feel blessed to live in a community that supports our schools and students.

I am available to help not only our AP students, but all students in becoming successful both inside and outside of the classroom. If I can ever be of assistance to any students or parents, please feel free to contact me at (334) 774-4915 or amaness@ozarkcityschools.net.
